--> Alphabet in Motion: Letters 'F' to 'K'
Our Kids Come First members have
been busy working their way through the alphabet with fun and
engaging activities. As we continue
through our Alphabet in Motion program here’s a look at a few more
letters our members have enjoyed…
“F” is for
Friendship
– Members enjoyed friendship games like
‘Friendship Knot’ and made up special friendship handshakes. Our
girl members also made friendship bracelets for one another and cool
friendship fortunetellers.
“F” is for
“G” is for Games
– For our letter ‘G’ day we took the
opportunity to learn and play our club games. Members rotated
between 3 different board games. This was a fun way to teach and
learn games that some of our members had never played.
“H” is for
'Ha! Ha! Ha! (Humour) – Members
enjoyed a good laugh on our “Ha Ha Ha Day”. Members read funny
books, told knock-knock jokes and played games to get them giggling.
“I” is for
Improv – Members had a great
time getting dramatic playing improv games. Acting and improvising
is a great way to get the creative juices flowing. After playing a
few games, members had an opportunity to write “I Am” poems and put
their creative ideas on paper.
“J” is for Jungle Animals
– We have so many animal lovers in the club that
jungle animals were a popular theme.
Members read and learned about jungle animals, and danced to
jungle-themed music. Our members also created ‘jumbled jungle
animals’ by combining two animals (eg. Snake+Aligator=Snakeagator).
“K” is for
Kindness– Members used the
letter ‘k’ for an opportunity to pass on random acts of kindness.
Our girls made a special flower pens for the secretary at Hyde Park
school. Members have noticed that she’s always loaning out pens and
thought this might be the perfect surprise for her.
