Our Kids Come First members have been busy working their way through the alphabet with fun and engaging activities. Here is a peek inside our program & the activities we’ve enjoyed thus far.

“A” is for Autumn Walk – members enjoyed a neighbourhood walk while they searched for a variety of autumn items using a member-made scavenger hunt list.

“A” is for Australia – Our boy members were keen to learn about the land down under. Miss Gen created a special slideshow of photos from her time there. Afterwards the boys completed a research page on Aussie animals. 

“B” is for Bucket – “How Full is Your Bucket?” is a collective project that all of our members will be working on this year. Based on the book, members will be working hard to fill our club bucket through acts of kindness & positivity.

“C” is for Cookie – In October we were busy making a cookie recipe with sneaky ingredients. Who knew you could add zucchini and banana to an oatmeal cookie recipe!? Reading and following a recipe is a great way to get kids to follow instructions and sequences while providing a fun, hands-on experience.  

“C” is for Comics – We couldn’t do “C” with a little comic book action! Our boy members had a great time creating their own comics using funny photos of themselves, alongside creative captions.  

“D” is for Dora the Explorer – This member-selected theme was a lot of fun. Members were sent on a challenging mission to save our club ‘pet’ Squeak from the top of ‘Cheesy Mouse Mountain’. Members had to follow the trusty map and pass through challenging obstacles.   

“D” is for Dress-up – Halloween was a great opportunity for a fun dress-up day. All of our members really got into the spirit of things with fun costumes and enjoyed a day of fun & games.  

“E” is for Ewok – When our boys were asked “what would you like to do for our letter E week?” they responded with a unanimous answer: “EWOKS!!!”.  So, that’s what they got and quite frankly the pictures can speak for themselves. J
