Following the success of our Passport to Games from Around the World program last year, we have started a new program where our members get to try new foods and games each week. 

Each week on our “Awesome A-Z” day a letter of the alphabet is featured.  Our snack foods start with that letter, and we do activities, and play games starting with that letter.  Here is a sampling of activities we’ve done so far:

“A” is for Aliens – 3-part drawings are a fun way to get creative.  Each member drew a head, a torso and feet of an alien – but on three separate pieces of paper.  When drawing a part of an alien, they could not look at what was drawn beforehand.  The results are always hilarious!

“B” is for British Bulldog – A fun gym game where the British Bulldog tries to tag other players to join their team.

“C” is for Circle Dodgeball – A great game to play outside, everyone starts in the middle of the circle, with one person on the outside who is “it”.  At the end of the game, there is only one person left in the middle.

“D” is for Dishwasher – A club favourite game, where there are a number of actions that members must act out in groups of three.  The below picture shows the action “Monkey” -  Hear no evil, Speak no evil, See no evil.

“E” is for Escargot – A hopscotch game that we were introduced to last year on our France “Passport” day.  Escargot means snail in French, and our hopscotch looks like a giant snail!

“F” is for Frogger – A fun detective game where one member is chosen to be the “Frogger” and freezes people (usually with a funny face) by sticking their tongue out at them while the detective is not looking.
