--> Sport & Game Skills at our Kingsway Park site

Both the boys and the girls of the "Kids Get Active” Club afterschool program at Kingsway Park have been busy working on their sports skills.  The girls have been busy strengthening their volleyball skills which include volleying and bumping.  They have been doing this by practicing the individual skill with a partner, games that reinforce the skill and through a fun non-competitive game of volleyball. 

Alphabet in Motion is a program that our boys have begun and involves playing games each week that relate to a letter of the alphabet.  The boys are strengthening their sports skills through these games and recording them in their sports and games notebooks.  They will be working on different skills throughout the year ... in the end they will have a great collection of games that they can play at home and in their own neighbourhoods!

During the month of January the Kids Get Active Boys Club have added 6 new letters to Alphabet in Motion, and a bunch of new games to the sports and games notebooks.  This month’s letters and games include:

LETTER "H": 'Head or Catch" and "Handshakes"

LETTER "I": 'Islands' and 'Indy 500'

LETTER "J": 'Jamaquack' and 'Jumping Beans'

LETTER "K": 'Knights, Horses, Cavaliers' and 'Kings Backboard'

LETTER "L": 'Ladder climb', 'Limbs' and 'Line Tag'
