Following the success of our Passport to Games from Around the World
program last year, we have started a new program where our members
get to try new foods and games each week.
Since our last report we've added quite a few more letters to our
repetoire of "Awesome A-Z" games!
“G” is for
Giants, Wizards and Elves –
A fun game similar to Rock, Paper, Scissors Tag, where teams choose
an action, then face off to see who chases who. Giant
squish elves; elves outsmart wizards and wizards 'Zap!
giants.

“H” is for
HORSE
–
A basketball game, where if you miss the shot that your opponent
made, you get stuck with a letter. Don't be the first player
to spell out H-O-R-S-E!

“I” is for
I Am
Poems –
Members used a template to write poems where every line started with
the word "I". Afterwards, everyone got to share their creative
writing, some of the poems were serious and some were very funny!

“J” is for
Jamaquacks
–
Jamaquacks is a game about fictional Australian birds. Members
act like Jamaquacks by holding their ankles, only moving backwards
and quacking loudly at all times. Oh, and on top of all that,
they're blindfolded! The Jamaquacks must find their way out of
a circle of members and there's only ONE way out!

“K” is for
KAOS –
A group favourite, this game is a mixture of Elimination
Dodgeball, Octopus and Tag. You always have to
watch your back in this game that rarely ends and is always chaotic,
but also lots of fun!

“L” is for
Limbo –
Members tried to see how "low they could go" in this game.

“M” is for
Minefield –
Members had to lead their blindfolded partners through a "minefield"
of bean bags, using only words. If their partner touched a
beanbag, they had to go back to the starting line.

“N” is for
Ninjas –
Another favourite game of our group. While the lights are off,
ninjas sneak across the gym. When the lights come on, they
have to quickly hide. The ninja that steals the treasure
waiting on the other side wins!

“O” is for
'One Against Three' –
A game where three people joined together in a circle try to protect
each other while a player outside their circle tries to tag one of
them.
