-->  LITERACY NIGHT AT THE "KIDS COME FIRST" CLUB


Families were invited to a special Open House at the "Kids Come First Club" program at Kingsway Park School on March 9, 2011.  This was a great opportunity for our young members to show off all of the great written work they have produced over the past few months. 

Our boys and girls have enjoyed a wide variety of literacy-rich activities including poetry construction, creative writing, a fairytale-themed unit and a spin on the "Flat Stanley" books that had our members writing about their "Flat selves" and even "Flat Mousey", our club mascot.  It was wonderful to see the pride in our members' faces and that of their families.  We were also pleased that the Vice-Principal and several of the Hyde Park  classroom teachers dropped by... it meant a lot to the kids and our staff to have that support!
