This is our club members' 2nd year of collecting pop tabs on behalf of the local Shriners who recycle them and put the money toward programs that directly benefit children ... if you have a collection you'd like to contribute, give us a call!  345-1182

VANCE CHAPMAN SITE KIDS CARE CLUB - On Mondays, our Vance Chapman site “Kids Care Club” members have been doing kind things and helping others.  They all enjoy reporting their “Random Acts of Kindness”, and doing secret projects that show their kindness to others.   Read more ....

SPORT & GAME SKILLS - KINGSWAY SITE - UPDATE Feb 8/12
Members of “The Get Active” Club at Kingsway Park have been busy working on their sports skills.  Our objective is to make sure that when they get out on the field, court or playground, children are confident and successful and able to participate in sport activities to stay active.  Read more ....
CHEFS IN TRAINING - KINGSWAY PARK SITE
Learning to cook helps kids to learn about nutrition and healthy eating.  Perhaps, it is the enthusiasm of creating something themselves, but they will be more likely to eat whatever they had a hand in making. 
This month the cooking groups have begun working on measuring wet and dry ingredients.

Following the success of our Passport to Games from Around the World program last year, we have started a new program where our members get to try new foods and games each week. 
"HOME COOKING SKILLS"
In our Vance Chapman after school program, we have been introducing kids to a different cooking skill each week (loosely based on Jamie Oliver’s “Home Cooking Skills” ... Read more!
KIDS LOVE YOGA!
Through practicing yoga, children can learn ways to relax and get control of stress in their lives. A child worried about a test, for instance, might use the meditation or breathing techniques of yoga to help calm down and focus.

2011-2012 PROGRAM YEAR - "KIDS GET ACTIVE" CLUB:
Getting active, in combination with healthy eating, is a great way for children to become healthy and stay that way.  At the "Kids Get Active" Club, kids will learn new games and find ways to be active each and every day.  Stay tuned ....
